Research Interest

My research interest lies on the synthesis and processing of poly(m,p-phenylene)s with high molecular weights. Therefore I am refining the polymerization conditions in order to achieve high degrees of polymerization on a multigram scale. Having these materials we process them into fibers by hot drawing, for mechanical measurements and stress tests.
Using several methods like X-Ray scattering, TGA and DSC we are able to monitor the changes of the material throughout the whole process. This research is carried out in collaboration with the group of Prof. Paul Smith, ETHZ.
